My Convention Swap Card

Today's the day that Dave and I get on a plane and fly to Brisbane so I can attend the 2013 Stampin' Up!® South Pacific Convention.   SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!

Classes/Events Coming Up

Here are the classes/events I have available for the next month. 
 
I'll be at Convention - 22nd to 26th May - so I won't be able to access my phone and I will only have limited access to EMail for this time.  I will be sharing photos and news on my facebook page while I'm away.  Pop over and like my page to get the updates.
 
Craft At Keryn's - 5th June - Join me for a fun craft session. Bring your current projects and use my stamp sets, ink pads and tools.  New ones being added all the time.


Stamp Club - 13th & 16th June - learn two new techniques each month, shorten your wishlist and collect the hostess benefits once over your ten month commitment.

Tips & Tricks - Trish's Flowers

These are the flowers that the very talented Trish showed us how to make at last night's team meeting.

It is based on a the Bloomin' Bouquet kit that has been available in North America.  Sadly it has never reached the South Pacific.  But luckily with a clever trick of Trish's, a bit of florist wire and some flower stamps and punches we already have, we can have these flowers too.

 

Stamp three flowers from the 'Mixed Bunch' stamp set in Whisper White craft ink on coloured card or coloured classic ink on Whisper White card and cut out with the matching punch.  You could also use the Secret Garden stamp set and matching framelits.

Then follow the instructions in this Stampin' Up!® video.

Celebration Card Wednesday - Wedding

A wedding card is something I haven't made in a long long while.  It's not something you usually think of unless you've had an invitation to a wedding.  If you have a wedding to go to here's some inspiration for you if not this is an idea you can squirrel away for later.

The idea for this card came from Stampin' Connection. (A forum where Stampin' Up!® demonstrators share ideas).

MDS - Backpack Digital Download

After running up to school this morning with photos Cam needed, after the printer decided to eat the photo paper earlier this morning, I've been having a lot of fun putting together this cute back pack.

 

I've only used the pieces that came with the template, but I think that you can see that if you add pieces from other digital downloads, stamps, ribbon, embellishments the sky's the limit.

 

 Printed on two A4 sheets the 8 1/2x11" template fits well.  I find with my printer I prefer to save to a jpeg file and print rather than print directly from the MDS software.  I think this will be different for everybody's computer set up.

Using the bar at the top of the paper trimmer and lining it up with the groove the blade runs in worked well for cutting the straight lines.

 

Where a cut doesn't go right across the piece being cut, the arrow on the blade shows you where to stop your cut.

 

 Pieces all cut out with a little help from my paper snips.

Using the simply scored tool to score the fold lines.  It's easy to line up the fold lines against one of the marks on the bar.  (I didn't think to take the photo until after I'd finished scoring the lines.)

 I don't like white edges so I sponged the pieces before assembly in Island Indigo Classic Ink.

 All put together using Sticky Strip.

Wouldn't these be great for teacher gifts, loot bags or even gift containers for five year old Birthday parties.
